NGSS Example Bundles Available for Elementary, Middle, and High School

 

The Example Bundles (formerly known as the Model Content Frameworks for Science) demonstrate various ways that curriculum developers can bundle the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) within a school year. "Bundling" is an important strategy for implementing the standards because it helps students grasp connections between concepts and brings coherence to classroom instruction. 

Today's release highlights the fourth and final set of bundles, including:

Elementary School 

  • Kindergarten Bundles (Thematic Model and Topics Model)
  • 1st Grade Bundles (Thematic Model and Topics Model)
  • 3rd Grade Bundles (Thematic Model and Topics Model)
  • 4th Grade Bundles (Thematic Model and Topics Model)

Middle School

  • Middle School Course I Models (Phenomenon Model and Topics Model)
  • Middle School Course II Models (Phenomenon Model and Topics Model)

High School

  • High School Course I Models (Conceptual Progressions Model and Domains Model -Chemistry)
  • High School Course II Models (Conceptual Progressions Model and Domains Model - Physics)
  • High School Course III Models (Conceptual Progressions Model and Domains Model -Biology)

These resources now cover all grade levels and are designed to help ensure that curriculum developers for science have a broad set of NGSS-aligned examples to consider. Curriculum developers, including educators and commercial publishers, can reference these examples when considering how to create and arrange bundles in ways that coherently build student proficiency in all three dimensions of the standards.
